Working in Partnership with Parents
At Bookie’s Babes, we know that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. That’s why building a strong, respectful partnership with families is at the heart of everything we do.
To truly meet each child’s needs, we believe in open, ongoing communication and a relationship built on trust and collaboration. We want parents to feel welcome, involved, and fully informed about their child’s day and progress at nursery.
At Bookie’s Babes, we value and respect all children and families equally. The EYFS places a strong emphasis on working with parents as partners. We understand and observe each child's development and learning, then do their next steps in the moment with the activities and resources of their choice. We take into account parents' and carers' knowledge of their child's, physical, emotional and language development. Bookie’s Babes also offers a daily diary to communicate where key persons document what activities children have done, nappy changes, sleep times and how well children eat and drink that day. Parents have a section within this diary to communicate with the staff.
Bookie’s Babes also asks the parents to email a rough routine when children start and this is a work in progress and regularly updated by parents as and when their children change sleep patterns, food requirements and toilet routines. Bookie’s Babes is able to commit and respect each child’s routine to ensure they feel as secure as possible in our setting to enable learning, a core belief at Bookie's. Parents and key persons share information and knowledge to ensure the child’s needs are met. Parents are always invited to join in with nursery activities, focus weeks, and events—and we’re always happy to hear your suggestions or ideas.

Equal Opportunities
Bookie’s Babes has an equal opportunities policy whereby we provide equal chances for each child to learn and develop to their full potential, taking into account each child’s age and stage of development, gender, ethnicity, home language, and ability. We value and respect the different racial origins, religions, cultures and languages in a multi-ethnic society so that each child is valued as an individual without racial or gender stereotyping.
