The Butterfly Room
For Toddlers from 18 Months
Our Butterfly Room is a vibrant, nurturing space designed for toddlers aged approximately 18 months and up. It’s the perfect environment for young children to flourish as they grow in independence, confidence, and curiosity.
At Bookie’s Babes, our toddlers are always busy with exciting, hands-on activities—from sensory exploration to developing early pencil control skills. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, encouraging learning through play and empowering each child to make their own choices.
Children enjoy free-flow access to our outdoor garden, promoting movement, exploration, and connection with nature. A rolling snack time allows toddlers to eat when they’re ready, supporting self-regulation and independence.
Inside, our fully equipped home corner encourages imaginative play and helps children develop real-life skills in a fun, age-appropriate way. Social development is a big focus at this stage—toddlers learn to share, take turns, and build early friendships through group play and daily routines.
We also support toilet training in partnership with parents, and introduce key skills like self-registration, where children begin to recognise their names during circle time.
Our experienced practitioners guide each child’s development, encouraging active exploration and participation in learning opportunities while supporting everyday routines like handwashing, dressing, and feeding. Real-life experiences help children understand the world around them in meaningful ways.
We celebrate every child’s individual learning style. Whether they prefer group activities or quiet, independent exploration, our Early Years Educators ensure that each learning moment is thoughtfully planned to meet their needs and spark their natural love of discovery.
